Assessing the Strength of Carbon Fibres

چکیده
Data on the strength of carbon fibres, first examined by Crowder (1994), are re-analysed. The new analysis is Bayesian and is implemented using Markov chain Monte Carlo methods. The flexibility of this approach allows an extended form of Crowder’s model to be considered, and provides more reliable measures of precision for parameter estimates. The results obtained lead to an improved understanding of the underlying physical process.
